Community Health Needs Assessment Survey Begins Today
Billings, MT- Billings Clinic, RiverStone Health and St. Vincent Healthcare are conducting a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) for Yellowstone County. The purpose of this assessment is to identify major community health challenges, gaps in services, and other factors that may contribute to less than optimal health status for residents of our community.
The CHNA begins this week and includes several components to aid community partners and leaders in identifying priority health issues. The first component is a resident survey, which is being conducted with the help of an independent research firm, Professional Research Consultants (PRC). A random sample of approximately 400 residents county-wide will be contacted via phone (cell and land-line) and be asked to provide feedback on their health and health perceptions of the community. In this age of telemarketer calls, we encourage residents to answer their phones to take part in this important effort.
In addition to the resident survey, the CHNA will include a key informant email survey, asking 300 community members representing different sectors of Yellowstone County to provide their perceptions of the major health concerns facing our citizens. In fall 2019, the CHNA will include an opportunity for residents to share their suggestions for improving our community’s health through a digital platform called Streetwyze.
Responses from the participants are confidential and will help guide action steps in addressing the health needs of the community. Once the assessment is complete, community input will be sought in prioritizing goals, developing objectives and executing strategies to improve the health of Yellowstone County.
Should you receive a call or an email to provide feedback at any point in the Community Health Needs Assessment process, we would greatly appreciate your participation.
