Powell Valley Healthcare and Billings Clinic sign affiliation agreement
Billings, MT— Powell Valley Healthcare (PVHC) in Powell, WY and Billings Clinic signed a formal affiliation agreement, concluding a three-year long process of creating a new governance arrangement between the two organizations. In the new affiliation, Billings Clinic will provide management services for PVHC.
“We are extremely pleased to announce this formalized affiliation with Billings Clinic,” said RJ Kost, PVHC Board Chair. “Billings Clinic has a great deal of experience working with rural health care facilities and has shown success in expanding medical specialties in communities like ours. Powell Valley Healthcare and Billings Clinic working together, will provide more opportunities and healthcare for our citizens.”
This new affiliation agreement provides a wide range of ways the two organizations can collaborate to improve and enhance patient care in Powell and the surrounding area. The affiliation includes:
- Clinical integration and adoption of an Integrated Medical Record
- Quality and Population Health Program development
- Increased access to specialists
- Educational opportunities for providers, board and staff
- Formal leadership development programs
- Process improvement
- Reduced costs for supplies
- Recruitment services, marketing and human resources assistance
“Billings Clinic has a long tradition of partnering with Montana and Wyoming communities to advance rural health care,” said Clint Seger, MD, Billings Clinic Chief Medical Officer of the Region. “With this affiliation, we will be able to partner to keep care local and add specialty services through outreach and other clinical partnerships.”
PVHC joins 13 other health care organizations in Montana and Wyoming that are affiliated with Billings Clinic, in addition to its co-ownership of Community Medical Center in Missoula.
