Jacobs Contracting, 360 Office Solutions and the Billings Clinic Foundation providing free hand sanitizer
Proper and frequent hand hygiene is a simple yet very effective way to prevent the spread of infection and protect ourselves and others from respiratory illnesses like COVID-19.
With that in mind, Jacobs Contracting, 360 Office Solutions and the Billings Clinic Foundation are teaming up to provide free 1-gallon jugs of hand sanitizer to any members of the public who want it.
The hand sanitizer will be available in the main lobby of 360 Office Solutions (3676 Pierce Parkway) in Billings from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning Monday, April 26, and continuing through Friday, April 30. It is available on a first come, first served basis.
Jacobs Contracting has generously donated 20 pallets containing more than 1,000 jugs of hand sanitizer, and several hundred unused clear face shields, to be provided to citizens, businesses and organizations in the community. 360 Office Solutions is sharing their space to distribute, and members of the Billings Clinic Foundation are helping to coordinate distribution and will be on-site each day to assist in giving the sanitizer away.
Each jug includes a hand pump dispenser and is ready to use right away.
According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), effective hand sanitizer includes 60 to 95% alcohol. The hand sanitizer being given away is 73%, meeting FDA standards.
The CDC recommends washing or disinfecting hands:
- After blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing
- After being in a public place
- Before and after caring for someone who is sick
- Before, during, and after preparing food
