Residency Programs at Billings Clinic

Education is an important part of our mission, including post-graduate education. Billings Clinic serves as an academic medical center, offering residence programs for nurses, pharmacists, and physicians in Billings, Montana.

Billings Clinic Internal Medicine Residency Program

Billings Clinic established Montana’s first Internal Medicine residency program in 2014. The 3-year program combines education and research with practical clinical and hospital experience among a complex patient population.

The Billings Clinic Internal Medicine Residency is designed to train internists to care for complex medically ill patients in rural environments. The learning model integrates competency-based residency training into a modern functional patient-centered medical home.

Billings Clinic Psychiatry Residency

Our mission is to train psychiatrist-leaders, who will become change agents in the rural communities they serve, by uncovering and nurturing their passions, teaching them evidence-based clinical skills, and inspiring innovative approaches to closing gaps in community-based systems of mental health care.

Billings Clinic Nurse Residency Program

Billings Clinic's Nurse Residency program helps new registered nurses bridge the gap in the transition from student to a competent professional nurse over their first two years of practice. Our Nurse Residency program offers a supportive environment which allows new nurses to gain the competence and confidence needed to be an integral part of the health care team at Billings Clinic.

The nurse residency program at Billings Clinic is accredited with distinction as a Practice Transition Program by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

Billings Clinic Pharmacy Residency Program

Billings Clinic is an educationally-focused, integrated health-system that offers residents well-balanced experiences in direct patient care; advancing practice and improving patient care; leadership and management; teaching, education, and dissemination of knowledge; and the management of medical emergencies.

The PGY1 pharmacy residency program at Billings Clinic is accredited by American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP).
