Ariana Kam, MD - Billings Clinic Psychiatry Resident

Ariana is originally from Hingham, MA and studied organismic and evolutionary biology at Harvard College where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with Highest Honors and as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She attended medical school at Boston University School of Medicine. Between her second and third year she took a leave to complete a project in Australia examining substance use disorder treatment as a 2019-2020 U.S. Fulbright Scholar. Throughout her academic career Ariana has participated in a wide variety of research projects, from studying the impact of dog ownership on human health to a literature review on best practices to manage patients at the intersection of the opioid use disorder and COVID-19 pandemics. She’s also had diverse work and volunteer experiences within which she’s been able to weave her talents and passion as an artist. Ariana has facilitated art therapy workshops for patients living with dementia, was a cartoonist for the Harvard Crimson, and produced a series of stop-motion animation films “exploring perspectives on substance use and addiction in Sydney, Australia” which can be seen at https://www.alesslonelyroad.com. As well as art of varied media, her other hobbies include birdwatching, rock climbing, and hiking.
