Billings Clinic embraces a team-focused multidisciplinary care approach in the delivery of high-quality patient care. Various cancer specialists, such as surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, and nurse navigators, work together to provide the highest level of evidence-based, comprehensive, and coordinated cancer care possible.
Providers and staff from different disciplines collaborate on our site-specific cancer programs for breast, gastrointestinal, gynecologic, head and neck, hematologic, and lung cancers. These teams meet routinely to establish program goals and continually advance the quality of care provided to cancer patients.
For patients with newly diagnosed breast, esophageal, head and neck, lung, and rectal cancers, a virtual Multidisciplinary Clinic provides the opportunity to meet with each of the cancer specialists and learn about each of the treatment options that may be indicated. This experience is facilitated by a patient care navigator who guides patients through the multidisciplinary evaluation process.
Patients may be scheduled to see each of the providers during the same day or appointments may be spread over 1-3 days. Once the evaluation is complete, the multidisciplinary team will collaborate on an evidence-based, individualized treatment plan.
