Billings Clinic Psychiatric Center provides treatment for youth and adults struggling with mental illness. It is the largest inpatient hospital facility in Montana with 44 beds - one-third are in the Youth Inpatient Unit and two-thirds in the Adult Inpatient Unit.
Psychiatric Inpatient Unit
This unit provides short-term acute inpatient care to children, adolescents and adults who pose an imminent danger of harm to themselves or others or are functionally impaired so as to present a danger to themselves. Admission and care are provided 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The focus of treatment is to provide safety for each patient while individualized assessment, stabilization and discharge planning is performed by the multidisciplinary treatment team.
Youth Partial Hospitalization Program
This program offers outpatient treatment and education to children and adolescents who are no longer an imminent danger to themselves or others, but can benefit from a structured environment and active treatment in a therapeutic setting. Billings Clinic Psychiatric Services contracts with Yellowstone Academy/Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch to provide the accredited educational component of the program.
Bridge Clinic
This program provides outpatient, short-term psychiatric medication follow-up for adult patients as they connect with a community provider. Group medical visits are an innovate treatment used that are modeled after Massachusetts General and Cleveland Clinic programs. They are facilitated by a psychiatric nurse practitioner and social worker.
